The Faster message was presented by
Mrs. Jim Aitchison. Good Friday was the
darkest day but out of the darkness came
light and love. On Faster Sunday Christ
arose to save the world. The message of
Faster is symbolized by cross. and crown.
The benediction was repeated and a
social hour followed.

As Bill recalls he knew he had something
special about the third time he hooked him
up. Sadie, who trained the colt in his three
year old campaign,, says, "he was such a good
feeling colt all the time but when he hit the
trot he was something special".
How good was Camper as a three year old?
He set track records at almost every raceway
where he competed. Western Fair, Mohawk;
Greenwood, Windsor . and Richileau. He
defeated all the Canadian trotters and in the
Greenwood Stakes tackled Hatnbletoniancon-
tenders iarengo `Hanover, Kerry Pride and
Fashion Hill who had been raring weekly
against Nevele Pride and Snow Speed and he
feated themhandily. In the Civic Holiday he
seta trade record defeating Real Speed. It
was obvious that in the year of Nevele Pride
he ranked? with the best in the world.
Bill and Sadie are still training trotters and
Bill states that it looks like he has a promising
Scottish Beau two year old out of a Camper
mare this year. Over the 56 years `in the
business. Bill, Habkirk has experienced the
best and worst of times and through it all both
he and Sadie have maintained an optimistic
outlook on the business they love.
Alice Kopas summed it up, "Bill and Sadie
have been that kind of good friends that over
the years would do a favour for anyone in the
business. They developed many top trotters
and a great trotter and as Jack always said..
"when Willy Habkiric growled at a horse you
had better sit up and pay attention".
Bill and Sadie have four 'children Bob,
Mary and Peggy living in the Aylmer area
and Betty in New York.
The presentation was made at the OHHA
banquet in Toronto on February 2.
