Lucknow Sentinel, Wednesday, April 3, 1985—Page 14 Lucknow junior fleas are championship runnersup in tourney Lucknow junior fleas were runnersup in the junior flea tournament held in Lucknow on Saturday when Ripley, Teeswater and Mildmay came to town to compete for, medals. The home town boyslost to Teeswater in the championship game by two goals in a shoot out to decide the winner after the game ended in a tie. Lucknow opened the tournament in 'a game against Ripley which they won 4 - 3. (Photos by Sharon Dietz) Ripley -Huron Reunion BED RACES! SUNDAY, AUGUST Mh,1985 ENTER NOW! Two Classifications 1. OPEN Class 2. COUPLES' Class Basic Rules •Bed must have Four Wheels Only (no car tires). All four wheels must be touching the ground during race. •Each Class must have its own bed. •Bed must consist of a bed frame. •Person riding on bed must be at least 100 pounds. •Open Class team to consist of 5 persons (4 males pushing bed at all times plus 1 female ridingon bed). •Couples' Class must consist of two couples pushing bed at all times and your choice of person riding on bed. OFFICIAL ENTRY FORM Ripley -Huron Reunion "Bed Races" PLEASE PRINT CLEARLY Team Name Entered In fI 11 OPEN Class COUPLES Class Contact Person Town Phone Return Before JULY 1, 1985 to Marilyn Freer Box 252 Ripley, Ontario NOG 2R0 On Saturday, March, 3O teams from Ripley, Teeswater and Mildmay came to town to compete for gold, silver and bronze medallions donated by Hodges Milling Ltd. of Dungannon/ The tournament opened with Ripley taking on the home team. The visitors opened the souring just 26 seconds into the first period on a goal by Peter MacDonald. Other goals for Ripley came from the sticks of B. J. Cranshaw and Jason Reid. Lucknow goal scorers were Chad Louther (3) and Jeff Porter as the home team was able to come back and defeat Ripley by a score of 4 to 3. The second game of the series saw Teeswater and Mildmay play very close game with Teeswater narrowly defeating. the Mildmay squad. Mildmay and Ripley then played off and Ripley defeated Mildmay in another well played contest. Both teams received bronze medallions for their fine effort. The final game of the day saw Lucknow and Teeswater take to the ice for what proved to the most exciting game of the tournament. Teeswater opened the score on a goal by Joe Rock and Lucknow tied the game four Turn to page 15 s',
