Kinloss Kairshea Women's Institute held
their Citizenship and World Affairs meeting
at the home of Mrs. Clarence Ritchie on
February 21. Mrs.'ieonard Clarke, president
welcomed members and guests, and read a
poem, Daily Valentine. The scripture was
read by Mrs. Jim Burt.
Mrs. Pharis Moffat reported on. Valentine
gifts for -patients in the Kairshea room at the
Wingham Hospital. Meals on Wheels were
discussed as there seems to be some interest.
It was left over to the next meeting. The roll
call was, Flom where did all your ancestors
come.
The topic, Our Heritage, was taken by Mrs.
Hank,Hartemink, Mas: Brian Doelmar, Mrs.
Boely de Boer and .Mas. Herman Van
Meeteren, all members of Kairshea Branch.
Each told of their experiences in coming to
Canada as Dutdi -inunigrants from Holland. i
Many lovely slides were also shown of their
native country, Holland.

euchre tournament
The Dungannon Agrialltural Society held
its third Euchre Tournament at the Dungan-
non Hall on Saturday, Feebruary 23.
Out of 28 tables, two couples tied for high
prize with a`score of 81. Millie Johnston and
partner, Ila. Pollock played a grudge match
game of euchre with . Bryce Ritchie and
partner, Donna Powell. Bryce and Donna
came out victorious, receiving the $50 prize
while : Millie and Ila . receivedthe $40 second
prize. Thirdprize of $30 went to Tom Moore
and Len Bowman.
Draws for. 12 different prizes, donated by
the. Agricultural Society directors, were held
with the following people winning: Murray
Rourke, Glenna Pannabedcer, Jean Brough-
ton, Mary Maize, Margaret Errington, Tom
Tobey,' Kathleen Curran, James . Doherty,
Suzanne Boshart, Chris Gautreau, Dave
Million and Beth Dickson.
Fblks are reminded that the next Euchre
Tournament Saturday, March 23, will be the
• last onefor this season.
A contest was conducted by Mrs. Flank
MacKenzie on the recent first ministers
conference.
Lance was served by the hostess and
directors, Mrs. Hank Hartemink, Mrs. Roely
de Boer and Mrs. Herman Van Meeteren.
Fashion Five 4-H
The first meeting of Trinity's Fashion Five
Actionwear 4-H club was held at Suzanne
Andrew's home on February 12. The leaders
for this club are Jayne Ritchie and Suzanne
Andrew.
Officers were chosen as follows: president,
Debbie Raynard; vice-president, Nancy Hun-
ter; secretary and press reporter, rotating.
The leaders discussed the objectives of the
club and the project requirements. Members
Learned the club has two experienced sewers
and three beginner sewers.
The. leaders discussed equipment., the
various types of knit fabrics, and the stretch
of knot fabric.
Members completed a word scramble and
must bring a sewing box and three knit
clothing items to the next meeting. Members
are to start looking for fabric and patterns. as
well and must bring a picture for the cover
page to the next meeting. •
The meeting closed with Mrs Andrew
serving refreshments.
Kingsbridge 4-H
The first meeting of the Kingsbridge 4-H
Actionwear Club was held on February 21 at
the home of Delores Van Osdi.
The president is Darlene Kuik; vice-presid-
ent, Agnes Van Oseh; secretary, Lisa Card;
press reporter, members take turns Leading
the group. are Delores Van Osch and Janet
Card.
After the business was completed, the girls
read through meeting 1. The leaders explain-
ed what is needed in the sewing box, then
answered the puzzle and showed the. new
members what their books should look like.
