. When Mrs. MacRorie looked out of her
cabin window and saw the burly frame of
MacCrimmon striding down the pathway,
she had a premonition something serious
was about to happen, and her voice
revealed that fact.
good Lord; 'tis Mister , MacCrim-
mon!"
Her husband's face suddenly turned
• white. Had MacCtimnion come to beat him
up again?
"Gae outside and tell him I'm not in,"
MacRorie said in, a frightened voice.
The goOd woman did as she was told and
by the time MacCrimmon reached the
cabin; she was standing on the front stoop.
"Good afternoon tae ye, Mrs. Mac -
Rorie," MacCrienmon Said in a cheerful
voice. "1 ..came tae hae words wi' ye
husband," .
"He's no hame," the woman said ner-
vously. "I dinna kin where. he is the noo."
"Well wherever he is, he went in his
stockinged feet," MacCrimmon said in a
sudden fit of laughter. "He's left his boots,
by the door!"
Mrs. MacRorie was somewhat reassured
by MacCrimmon's light hearted manner,
but she wanted no harm to come to her
husband.
_ "Ye no gonna knock him about are ye,
sir? I swear he hasn't laid a hand on me
since the day ye thrashed him!"
• "No, no, it's alright - I just want him tae
help me free a wee while." He turned away
from the woman and shouted at the top of
his voice. "I ken ye're in there MacRorie.
I'm no gonna hurt ye -come outside. I need
ye help!"

peeked around the door, MacCrimmon
became a little more serious.
"Are ye off the whisky?"
-"Aye, that I ant I've. no touched k drop
. since I was in the hotel." • •

"W ell now, I'ingoing tae take ye back to
that hotel;" 'MacCridunon said resuming
his cheerful tone of voice. "And this time,
it will no be frae a drink. Ye are going tae
help me rescue another drunken • sot .- just
• like you used tae be!" . •
MacRorie's face lit up with relief.
"As soon as I get my boots on Mr.
MacCrimmon, I'll come wi', ye!"
Transfer Madill vice-principal

• Six elementary school principals and one
secondary school vice-principal will be shuf-
fled around this summer.
The Huron County Board of Education an-
nounced the transfers at its February 4
meeting. •
The transfers are necessary because
• Ralph &fifth, principal at Robertson
Memorial in Goderich and Gordon.Phillips,
• vice-principal at South Huron District High
School are retiring. ,
Replacing Mr. Phillips is Sherwood Eddy
of F.E. Madill secondary school in
Wingham.
Angus MacLennan, principal at Hullett
Central, will replace Mr. Smith at the
Goderich school.,Other principals to be shuf-
fled are Bruce Robertson from Howick
tral to Wingham Public School, Paul Statia
• from Turnberry Central to Howick, John
Mann from Wingham Public to Turnberry
Central, Ron Jewitt Will •be going to Hullett
Central from Colborne Central and John
Ross will be moving from -Vanastra Public
School to Colborne Central. .

'Gryseels pointed out that although this
leaves Vanastra Public School without a
principal and KE. Madill without a vice.:
principal, those, positions will be filled by
Feb. 22. ••
He indicated that the positions will be
•advertised among the Huron teaching staff.
• "We expect keen competition," said Mr.
Gryseels.
Isboel Miller add Helen Todd attended
the funeral of Ann Todd in Goderich on
Tuesday. Ann was the wife of Neely Todd
of Stratford. She was in her 82nd year.
Mr. and. Mis. Hugh Todd hosted a party
for the Lucknow Intermediate ball team.
Prior to the party a meeting was held to
• discuss the upcoming season.
• Schools were closed again on Friday
while winter blasts dumped some more
snow on the area. The only mishap in the
area was a huge car pile up near the. farm
•Of Stuart Alton.
Mr. and Mrs, Wayne Todd and family
visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Del
Nixon of Kincardine.
