Extends sympathy to families
Sympathy to the families of the late
Margaret MacDonald, who passed away at
•the Wifigham and Dist-1*A Hospital on
Tuesday evening. Sympathy also to the
families of the late Joe MacMillan who also
passed away on Monday. Joe was a
resident of Pinecrest Manor, L cknow.
Sympathy to Mrs. Robert R id and
families in the passing of Mrs .Rei 's
brother, Donald Kingsbury of B ntf rd.
Attending the funeral were Mrs. Robert
Reid and Mr. and Mrs. Don Reid, on
Thursday, January 24. °
Mr. Robert Reid was unable to attend
the funeral as he was a patient in the
London Hospital and was transferred to
Pinecrest Manor, Lucknow Friday, January
25.
We extend sympathy fio the Bev Tiffin
family and other relatives in the passing of
Bev and Doug's father, Dan Tiffin. He
passed away Monday morning at the
Wingham and District Hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. John MacDonald of Tara
were home and attended the funeral of his
mother, Mrs. Peter (Margaret) MacDon-.
ald. Also home to attend his mother's
funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Jim MacDonald
and family of New Brunswick. Jim is
visiting here for a while.
Charlie Davies spent the weekend in
Oshawa visiting with his mother. She has
been in ill health for some time.
Grace Cassidy and Marie Prokopowicz of
• R. R. 3, Walkerton and Sylvester Cassidy
of London visited on Sunday with Tony and
Geraldine Schlosser.
Institute gives donation to Home
Thirteen members braved the .storm Ito
attend the meeting of the Lucknow
Women's Institute on January 22. Grace.
Gibson chaired the meeting and read a
poem; Heart Lifts.
Jean Whitby read the minutes and the
correspondence. A letter from the F.W.
I.O. president, Mrs. Johnson, was read.
The roll call was answered by giving a
history of the: members' homes to be
handed to the Currator, Mrs, Jack Collin-
.
son.
A donation was given to Safe Water for
All, and also to Erland Lee Home and
Adelaide Hoodless Home. A gift was
presented to Susan McNaughton. She and
her husband have recently celebrated their
50th anniversary.
Mary Collinson, the curator, chaired the
program. Dorothy Brown played the piano
• for some Scot singing. Susan McNaughton
spoke on Scotland and Bobby Burns. Stella
Tilbrook gave a reading, Take Time. Mary,
Collinson gave a history on Lucknow which
proved most interesting.
The committee in charge namely, Mary
Collinson, Winnie Fisher, Stella Tilbrook,
assisted by Susan McNaughto7i, served a
delicious lunch.
