Sentinel, Wednesday, January 23, 1985—Page 16 Locknow couple marks golden wedding anniversary Susan and Jim McNaughton visited Christmas week with their son, Jim and his wife Maureen, at Belwood, and during. New Year's week they all drove totondon to visit• their daughter, Susan and her husband Rudi Henning. The McNaughton family had a double ceiebration, bringing in the New Year and Susan and Jim's fiftieth wedding anniver- sary. Attending a dinner in London were Susan and Jim, Maureen and Jim of Belwood, Susan and Rudi, their daughter Elaine and her husband, Tom. Cooper and baby Susan Elizabeth; also their son, Norman Henning and his wife Cindy, with baby Jennifer Lynn, all of London. On January 2 the family had "Open House" at Susan and Rudi's -home at Springbank Drive, London for the McNaughton Golden Wedding. Among those calling were cousins of Jim and Susan with their wives, Rudi's two brothers and their wives, some Scottish friends., and neighbours and 'friends of the Hennings. The real date of the anniversary was Friday, January 18, so Susan and Rudy Henning visited in Lucknow then. Also visiting was Rudi's brother, Herbert Henning and his wife,„. Anita of Karlsruhe, Germany. Janie and Gib Hamilton quietly celebrat- ed their fifty-first wedding anniversary on. Sunday, January 20. Janie lives in the senior citizen apartments on Water Street, while Gib is a resident of Pinecrest Manor. Congratulations to Janie and Gib. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Gibson of Goderich, formerly of Lucknow, quietly celebrated their fifty-eighth wedding anniversary Saturday, January 19. Friends and relativ- es, who braved the stormy weather to join them, were received in •the friendship room of the Alexandra Marine and General Goderich, where Sam is a patient. Janet Brooks of highway 86 west was in town in front of the post office, when the throttle froze on her vehicle and she was very lucky when it ended up on the side, walk in front of Finlay Decorators, with • only minor damage. Friday night, a two car accident on highway. 86 west in a white out condition, sent George and Pat Gibson, and Jane West; Maurice Van Osch and' his passeng- r er to hospital. Pat, with a broken nose and bruises, and Jane West were treated and released. Maurice Van Osch had stitches and' other cuts and bruises. He also was treated and released. George, at time of writing, remains in Wingham and District ' Hospital uiider observation. George was on his way to Wingham, taking his wife Pat and Jane West to work. They are nurses at the Wingham and District Hospital. The accident happened in front of the fain of Ted Vandervelde, almost the same/place where Lillian Abbott had an accident about a month a half ago. Mrs. Lyman Sutton of Teeswater fell at their Bradenton,. Florida home and broke her right wrist. The 1st Lucknow Scout Troop. went to. Wingham for a joint meeting with the Wingham Troop. on Wednesday evening. The .local Pee Wee team will be playing: an exhibition game against a Pee Wee • team from Kalamazoo, Michigan, on Sun- day, February 17. We welcome Dr. Eric James Shalon, who has joined the staff at the Lucknow Medical Centre. Dr. Shalon came to Lucknow from Goderich. He is living with Dr. David Masse! on Ludgard Street in Lucknow. Lorne has been hospitalized about two and a half months. We are sorry to see Joel Sutton, son of Donna and Garry Sutton, wearing another cast. Joel broke his arm on Thursday. He had a cast removed from the same arm just • before Christmas. Sympathy goes to the relatives of the late Isobel Margaret Macintosh of Hamilton, who passed away on January 16, 1985 and rested at the MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Horne, Lucknow.
