Junior fleas
beat Howick
Howiek at Lucknow
On Saturday, January 19 the Howick
Junior Fleas came to Lucknow. The focal
team got on the score board first with a gial
by, Wesley Drennan.
The Howick boys, came back with four
goals. Lucknow's second goal tender of the
season, Jeff Porter, held the Howick team
to a scoreless second period with his
excellent goal tending. skills.
The third period saw the Lucknow squad
come back with a goal by Chad Louther.
Time ran out for the Lucknow Fleas and the
game ended Howick 4, Lucknow 2.
Tiverton at Lucknow
Saturday, January 5 Lucknow Junior
Fleas took to the ice for the first game .of
the 84-85 season. The Lucknow squad
played a good game but came up short.
Tiverton outscored Lucknow by a score of 6
- 1.
First goal tender -of the year, John S.
Dalton, came up with some outstanding
serves. .
Lone scorer for Lucknow was Chad
Louther. Tiverton's.' top scorer. was Marc
rl Brisson with .three goals.
Salute to Burns
The Town and Country. Club of
Lucknow met at the Legion Hall January
15. Anna Johnstone chaired the meeting,
welcoming all. . The program honoured the memory of
Robbie Burns. Frank MacKenzie played
• selections on the Bag Pipes, dressed in his
kilt. An orchestra consisting of Ira Dickie,
Harold Campbell, Jean Conley and Betty.
O'Donnell, played several ,selections.
Harry Lavis rendered selections. on the
mouth organ.
Rhoda MacKenzie told of a trip to Scot-
land, England and France and showed
interesting slides.
Readings were given by Ann Dexter and
Anna Johnstone.
Scones and tea were served, by the
committee.

brother for Matthew.

who returned home from Victoria Hospital
in London, on Friday.

Irvin on the birth of a baby girl, a wee
sister for Shelley and Lindsay.
Trinity Church service andcommunion
were cancelled on Sunday due to the storm.
It will be held. next Sunday.
Congratulations to Hannie and Marvin
•Scott on their 25th wedding anniversary.

The consultants are looking for farmers
who are representatives of the community,
"not necessarily the biggest, or the best,
or the most vocal."
Pennington said the . study would be the
first of its kind.
Government, farm, credit, and all. other
lending institutions are' going to have to.
take a look at it "when it's completed," he
said.
Farmers also might have to"face facts"
said Pennington.
"If the consultants say there's no way
you can make the capital''costs and pay the
interest on land, you aught be better
working off the farms."
Meetings for this area are planned in
Walkerton, Paisley, Teeswater{' Ripley,
Chesley, and Underwood. No dates have
been, set for the meetings.
