Kinsmen make cash donations
Lucknow and District Kinsmen have,
made cash donations to the Cystic Fibrosis
Foundation, the Hemophilia Society, the
International Relief Organization and
Henry and Bernice Drennan at the time of
the loss of their barn by fire. The club
recently purchased a new "Resusci -
Annie- doll for the purpose of teaching
CPR courses at Wingham and District
Hospital.
Funds have been raised in various ways
including chicken catching, bar tending at
receptions and ticket sales on the annual
Kirismen Hockey Pool. Project chairman
Cliff Mann reports over three complete
pools were sold this year.
At the last meeting the club dedided to
host next year's New Year's Eve dance at
the Luck now Community Centre. Plans are
now being made for the annual Suipmer-
fest in June and the 48 team men and
ladies' slo-pitch baseball tournament t be
held in conjunction with Summerfest.
The club recently won the consolation
trophy at the Paisley Kinsmen Hockey
Tournament and were champions of the
Dungannon Snow Pitch Tournament this
past weekend. They will travel to the
Monkton Kinsmen Hockey Tournament to
compete January 26.
Six new members have joined the club
since September and speakers have /
included George Brophy, Lucknow solicitor1
and Dr. David Massel. The club is
presently preparing a bid to host the 12
club zone conference for Kinsmen Clubs in
their zone for March of 1986.

Before he brought the meeting to a
close, he smiled in an odd kind of way as he
said: "As long as that law is in force, I
don't think our womenfolk have much to
fear from their husbands - drunken or
otherwise,"
The Reverend :Duncan MacLeod felt he
had to add his observations to the gossip
which had saturated the community. On
the following Sunday, he delivered a strong
sermon on the subject: :'Revenge is mine,
sayeth the Lord." ,
As his eloquent voice boomed across the
church, he stole a furtive glance at
MacCrimmon °to see if his words were
taking effeet. But if MacCrimmon felt guilt
rising out of such a strong sermon, his face
certainly didn't show it.
After the service, MacLeod could not
help mentioning the topic.
"Did you agree with my sermon today,
Neil?" he asked in a tongue-in-cheek man-
ner.
MacCrimmon was really a little angry at
being the focal point of the minister's
sermon but he tried not to show it.
"Aye, that I did. Revenge does indeed
belong tae the Lord. But did ye no stop tae
° think MacLeod, wi, all the brutality in the
world, He might need a little help now and
/then?"
