Home Hardware Stores Ltd. marked
their 20th anniversary in 1984 with a
Dream Home Contest holding .monthly
draws for customers with the grand prize
being a $100,000 Dream Home. The draw
for this home is to be made shortly:
Customers , across Canada had a chance.
to win valuable prizes given away each
month by entering their draw tickets in one
of the more than 900 Home Hardware
Stores across Canada.
At the same time Home Hardware held
quarterly draws for their dealers and
employees: Kevin Machan of Lucknow was
employed with Ron Machan Home Hard-
ware Ltd., of Lucknow at the time of this
draw. He recently won a new Oldsmobile
Cutlass Ciera Brougham in this draw.
Ron Machan Hardware of Lucknow was
recently sold to Richard and Dixie Askes of
Lucknow, who are operating the business
under the name of Lucknow Home -Hard-
ware Ltd. Ron, and Barb Machan recently
purchasedproperty across from the
Suncoast Mall in Goderich and plan to
build a new Home Hardware Store this
spring at this location.

Miss Garland's kindergarten class has
been studying outerspace by watching
video tapes and learning outerspace words.
Mrs. Graham's grade four class made
kaleidoscopes in science and posters for.
the library book fair.
Mr. Liddle's grade six class did a N.H.L.
hockey activity. Each person picked out a
hockey player and did spelling and math
activities on him. They have also started
the novel, I Am David. Mr. Liddle and
grade six are cheering for) the Toronto
Maple Leafs.
On Wednesday night the Warriors beat
the Mohawks 8 - 6" in floor hockey house,.
league .competition.
Mr. Sygrove's class started a unit on
monsters this week. They also made new
writing folders. The new snowfall has
given them a chance to work on their snow
forts. -
Mrs. Blanchette's grade one are working
on their first published book about Giants.
The Library is holding a Great. Canadian
Book Fair on January 28, 29, 30. The stud-
ents are making posters to advertise the
book fair which will be judged on Monday.

The Lucknow Atom A team won their
Tuesday night game defeating Ripley 3 - 2.
Scoring for Lucknow were Chris Stevenson
with Justin Murray assisting; Clint Murray
with Vince Sticklend assisting and Justin
Murray with, Ray Dalton assisting.
The team went to Mildmay on Friday
evening andwere defeated 4 2 in a rare
upset. Scoring for. Lucknow were Justin
urray with Chris Stevenson assisting and

his home where a total of 36 people bunked
down from Saturday until Tuesday morn-
ing, when the students returned home by
bus.
Between 70 and 80 people sought refuge
in the store at Edgewood over the weekend
during the storm.
