Michele MacTavish, /daughter of Jim and
Marj MacTavlsh of R. R. `#1 .1,' Ripley,
graduated in November from Conestoga
College of Applied Arts and Technology In
the Diploma of Nursing Program. Michele
has been employed at Stratford General
Hospital since, her graduation.

Jill Ritchie and Betty. -Anne Murray
spent part of the weekend with Tracy Ward
at Langside and enjoyed' her birthday
party.
Elmo Sanderson has been 4ome for a few
weeks, as the boats have pulled into shore
for the winter months. Elmo will return in
the spring.
Holiday visitors with Joe and Dean
Agnew were Mr. and Mrs. Jim Lukas,
Michele and Kevin, Walled Lake, Michi
gan; Pam Agnew, Spirit River, Alberta;
Joanne Agnew, Red Deer, Alberta; Mr.
and Mrs. Bob Feeney, Stacey and
Christopher, Scarborough and Bryan Rit-
chie, Red Deer, Alberta.
Jeff MacTavlsh, son of Jim and Marj
MacTavish of R. R. N 1, Ripley, graduated
on June 25, 1984 from the Fanshawe
College Campus, completing The Ambu-
lance and Emergency Care program and
also the Medical Care Examination by the
Ministry of Health Department. Jeff has
been employed. in Wallaceburg, Ontario
out of the Chatham and District Ambulance
Service since September.

daughter, Amanda Danielle, weighing 8 Ib.
10 oz., at Kincardine and District General
Hospital on Decent 1 eer 28, 1984, a wee
sister for Jeremy. Proud grandparents are
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Kempton of Point Clark
and Capt. and Mrs. Harvey McQuillin of
St. Catharines.

roll` call with the payment of fees.
Unit 4
Unit 4 of Lucknow ' United Church
Women met for their monthly meeting on
Tuesday, January 8, with an attendance of •
21 members and two visitors.
Mrs. Clarence Ritchie presided and
carrying out a New Year's theme, gave a
reading, Just Around the Corner, and/
followed with a prayer.
The scripture was read by Mrs. Lloyd
Whytock,. Mrs.' Ken Cameron gave the
meditation and I1rs. Ritchie closed the
devotions with prayer.
The Study Book for the coming year on
South Korea was introduced by Mrs. Wob
Irwin and Mrs. Glen Walden. They, each in
turn, presented the study in a:very inter-
esting way, describing the geography and
history of. the .small country, it's people,
culture, and resources.
A reading, A New . Year's Wish, was
given by Mrs. Charles Anderson. The
offertory prayer was given by Mrs. Ritchie.
Mrs. Bob Campbell, unit leader, presid-
ed for the business. The roll call was
answered by the payment of, fees. Mrs.
Campbell gave a reading,, The Wonder of
Life. .
Reports were given by the treasurer and
community friendship secretary. Mrs.
Campbell closed the meeting with prayer
and a social time was enjoyed.
Auxiliary appreciates support of workers
•The Lucknow Ladies • Auxiliary for
Winter Sports held their January meeting
at the town hall on Thursday, January 10
with 14 workers present.
The minutes of the November meeting
were read and approved. President Elaine
Irwin commented on the fine job and
co-operation received from all the workers
to the present time. '.
New Flea sweaters were purchased at
the beginning of the hockey season and six
new banners were made for last year's
winning teams. These will • Soon be
displayed in the arena. Money given to
each team for their wind up night was
discussed.
Concern was expressed at the large
volume of food wasted in the kitchen and
ideas on how to ' prevent this were
discussed. All workers were .requested to
takeout only what they expect to use as the
frozen food takes only a few seconds longer
to prepare.
The sale of hockey pins, and hockey
sticks and any problems the team leaders
were experiencing were discussed. Team
leaders are requested to leave a "workers
list" at the arena so workers can be
notified in- case of a cancellation.
Treasurer Deanna Reavie reported that
sales were down slightly from last year but
inventory is high.
Appreciation to Bruce . MacKenzie was
• expressed for the fine job he does in
looking after the pop machine and to
approximately 190 workers for their wil-
lingness , to help in the booth.
Because of their volunteer help the
auxiliary is able to keep prices low and
assist minor sports iri this community.
