The president, Mrs, Morgan Henderson, welcomed everyone . and . opened the meeting with a verse, What Is This New Year? " The Bible Study was taken by Mrs. Henry McKenzie and she based her talk on, the lost sheep and how Jesus comes to seek and to save., Mrs. Austin .Loree led in prayer. The : minutes of the last meeting were read and business discussed. The ladies were reminded that the annual Maitland Presbyterial meeting would be held, in Wingham on .January 21. There will be a pot luck lunch in the church after the service on January 20 and the annual meeting of the congregation will follow. Plans to cater to the Agricultural Annual banquet and meeting on January 22 in the church were discussed. A letter of appreciation for donations to' the Scott Mission, Toronto, was read. The roll call was answered with a verse concerning the New Year. The Glad Tidings review was taken by Mrs. James Little. Several short readings on a New Year were given by Mrs. Cyril Brow . .• The study book this year is on `Korea and Mrs. Ken Laidlaw very capably introduced the subject. Korea is , a small country. surrounded by three powerful nations, namely China, Russia and 'Japan. As a result, Korea has suffered through wars for many years and at present is a divided country. Get well cards, to be sent to shut ins, were signed by the ladies. Courtesy remarks were given , by the president and the closing prayer was given by •Mrs. Robert Reid. A social hour followed. Lochalsh woman. returns from Michigan visit By Kae Webster Visiting on the weekend with Finlay and Margie MacDonald were Kathy Robson and her son; Ryan of Grosse Point, Michigan and Eugene Blue of St. Clair. Shores, Michigan.. Margie MacDonald returned home after spending a month visiting in Michigan with relatives. The community will be glad to hear that Betty :Moncri'ef has returned home from University Hospital after being hospitaliz- ed fpr a few days after surgery. South Kinloss girls The community was sorry to hear of Marilyn and Margaret' MacIntyre's cat accident which happened on Saturday. No one was seriously hurt but the Maclntyre car was demolished. The Maclntyre car was travelling west on the second conces- sion west when a van came over the hill ° and hit them.
