Defeat Tiverton
Tiverton sure received a trouncing from '
the Lucknow Atom A team Tuesday,
January 8 in .Lucknow: The score was high .
with Lucknow scoring 10 goals and Tiver-
ton scoring one loan goal.
Scoring for Lucknow were Justin Murray
with Chris Stevenson assisting and Chris
Stevenson unassisted; Brad Rhody unas-
sisted; Matt Drennan scored the fourth
goal with Robbie Crich assisting; Vince
Sticklend with Clint Murray assisting;
Justin Murray, Chris Stevenson assisting;
Robbie Crich connected with Vince Stick -
lend assisting; Chris Stevenson scored the
eighth and ninth goal's with Ray Dalton
assisting on both goals and Matt Drennan
scored tit last goal with Steven Porter
assisting.
Lucknow Pee.Wees are
tournament runnersup
The Lucknow. PeeWee A team was run-
nerup in the B division of the Legion
tournament held in Ripley on the weekend
losing 4 - 3 in their championship game
against Brussels.
The championship game was a fast
checking game which saw the superior
stick handling of the. Brussels teams keep,
the local lads from scoring the tieing goal
in the third period. '
Brussels took the lead in the first period
on a goal from. Darren Johnston which was
followed five seconds later by Lucknow's
first goal of the game from Brad Murray
unassisted. In the second period Lucknow
opened the scoring when Murray scored
unassisted again. Brussels tied the score at
two with one minute left in the period on a
goal by Scott Bremner.
In the third period Brussels took a 4 -. 2
lead on goals by Steve Fritz. Lucknow at-
tempted to tie the game on a goal by Dale

Pine River UCW
The January meeting of the Pine River
U.C.W. held its January meeting on
,,a Tuesday at the church, in the form of a
luncheon meeting.
The meeting was opened by the presid-
ent, Ruth Farrell. The roil call was
answered by a wish you had for 1985.
Norma Humphrey read the minutes of
the .last meeting. Audrey Ferguson and
Gail Lowry agreed to look after the music
ind lunch the day the Pine River ladies
went to ' entertain the occupants ; at
Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home in Luck -
now. •
Eunice Farrell and • Glenna Farrell
introduced the new study book on Korea
for 1985.
Donnybrook UCW
The New Years meeting of the Donny-
brook U.C.W. was held Tuesday, January
8 at the home: of Lois Chamney with Elsie
Hardy and Luba Strutton in charge.
Elsie read a poem, Winter, and the
meditation on Beauty, touching on differ-
ent aspects of beauty throughout the four•
seasons. Luba read an interesting story of
Barbara Ann Scott, the triple crown skating
champion and Canadian outstanding ath-
lete.
The roll call for February is to' be
answered by an article for a layette. Donna
Bieman and Wanda Jefferson helped
serve lunch.
Town and Country bowling
Ladies high single Mabel Whitby with
200 and high double Anna Johnstone and
Agnes Farrier with 346 each.
Men's high was rolled by Harry Lavis
with a single of 222 and a double' of 435.
Men 200 and over: Harry Lavis 222 and
213, Art Burrows 204.
Team points and standings: Anna's Reds
5, 30' ; Ida's Oranges 0, 28'/2; Tena's
/V • Yellows 0, 26; Mabel's Greens 0, 23;
Greta's Blues 5, 18; Gerda's-Violets 5, 24.
