winless streak
The Lucknow Lancers extended their
winless streak over the weekend with a 3 -
3 tie in Teeswater And an 11 - 4 loss to
Ripley at home,
Teeswater took an early load in the game
Friday and held a 2 - 0 edge at the end of
the first period. Pat Murray got the ball
rolling in the second to narrow the score to
1 but the Falcons scored again before
/the period ended.
In the third period the Lancers celebrat-
ed a rare occasion, as they scored on the
powerplay with Steve MacPherson getting
the goal. Later in the period Brad Hum-
phrey finished off the scoring to tie the
game at three. Allan Dyck played. one of his
better games in net making several good
saves which kept the game close.
Sunday night at the coliseum it looked as
though the Lancerswere starting out
where they left" off Friday night as they
scored' in the first minute of play on a 'goal
liy Larry MacPherson. Ripley had a few
tricks up their sleeves (11 in all) as it
turned out and the Lancers fell behind 4 - 1 /
at the end' of the first period.
Brad Humphrey started the scoring in
-the second and Grant Murray finished the
scoring the second but three . goals in
between gave Ripley a 7 3 lead. Grant
Gilchrist added one more for the Lancers in
the third and Ripley scored a few more to
end it at ll -4.,
Pat Murray came up with the play P of
game as he took the puck at his own blue
line deked around their centre, went
through their left winger, split the defence,
deked the goalie out of his socks and
almost scoredl (Nice try, Pat.)
The Lancers were glad to see - Jim
Murray back in unifolitin on the weekend.
Murray is back from a remarkable recovery
of "refereeitis", a dreaded disease that
almost sidelined the rugged forward for the
season.
The Lancers travel to Monkton Friday
night and if all goes well, they should be
able to ice a team. Sunday as they host
Mildmay at the local coliseum. Advance .

Atoms lose
exhibition garre
The Lucknow Atom As were finally
beaten in an exhibition game against
Clinton in Lucknow on. December 17.
Clinton was extremely good and seemed to
catch the local team by surprise.
The score was 5 - 2 with Justin Murray
scoring Lucknow's two goals with Chris
Stevenson assisting.
At the return game in . Clinton on
December 22 thq team seemed to be ready
for Clinton, and ;,in a very hard fought end
to end game came up with a win. The score
was close all the way and tied 4 - 4 at one
point.
Scoring for Lucknow were Chris Steven-
son with Ray Dalton assisting; Chris
Stevenson unassisted; Justin Murray with
Chris Stevenson assisting; Ray Dalton with
Chris Stevenson assisting and the last goal
by Chris Stevenson unassisted.
These two games were exhibition games
and allowed the fans to see some most
exciting hockey.

Ladies high was rolled by Jean Conley
with a single of 187 and a double of 338.
,Art Burrows was high man with a single
of 245 and a double of 379.
Men 200 and over: Art Burrows 245, Don

Lochalsh families enjoy holiday together
Rhetta MacLennan . had her daughter,
Florence MacLennan of Kitchener with her
for a couple of days.
Cecil and Jim Webster spent a few days
in Richfield, -Ohio with their sister, brother-
in-law and niece, Atlee, Jean- and Tricia
Wise, during their two week Christmas
holidays.'
Finlay MacDonald had his New Years
dinner -with his son, daugh r and grand-
children, . George, Andy :,a, Julie and
Michael MacDonald of Ashfield Township.
Charles and Mayme Wilkins spent an
enjoyable evening recently, with Welling-
ton, Kae, Jim and Cecil .Webster.
On Wednesday Mr. and Mrs. Gordon
Robb were in Owen Sound to attend the
funeral of Mrs. Robbs. cousin, Jack
Aitken.
New Year guests with Ewan IfInd Marj
MacLean were Ewan's sister, his nephew,
wife and their family, Isabel Martyn of
Kincardine and Doug and Karen Martyn
and their family of Ripley:
Alex MacDonald, son of David MacDon-
ald of Fort Nelson, British Columbia was
home for a couple of weeks with his father.

We are sorry; . to report that Betty
Moncrief is at present a patient in Univer-
sity Hospital in London. Betty underwent
surgery a week ago.
On New Years day, Barry, Betty and
Sharlene Jones visited in Thorndale with
Barry's sister and brother-in-law, .Mr. and
Mrs. Jim McGill.
, Melissa Jones of Thorndale is visiting for
a week with Barry and Betty Jones.
Sharlene Jones, daughter of Barry and
Betty Jones, is spending a week with
Dianne Stevens in Thorndale.
Visiting with Rhetta MacLennan over
New Years were Bruce and Louise Millar
and their family of Palmerston, Marion
MacLennan and Dick Evans of Sudbury
and Margaret Morton and her .family of
Point Clark.
Marion MacLennan and Dick Evans have
now returned to their home in Sudbury.
Russell MacDonald, son of David
MacDonald, has been a patient in the,
Kincardine Hospital, but is now convales-
cing at the home of his father. Get well
soon.
