Mrs. Warren Wylds; friendship and Service, Mrs. Ewan MacLean; literature and library, Mrs. Gordon Finlayson; supply, Mrs. George Moncrief; press reporter, Mrs- Donald Simpson; historian, Mrs. Richard West; Glad Tidings, Mrs. Lloyd Collins. Mrs. Neil MacKenzie closed the meeting with prayer. :The December meeting of the ASIdield W.M.S. was held at the home of Mrs. Henry MacKenzie on December 13. Mrs: Neil MacKenzie opened the meeting with a poem, A Prayer at Christmas. Grace was sung and delicious luncheon served by the •committee in charge. The Christmas setvice from the Glad Tidings, Immanuel -- God's Love with Us, was followed with Mrs. Neil MacKenzie and Mrs. Ewan MacLean as readers. The offering was received and the offertory • prayer said by Mrs. Neil MacKenzie. • Roll call was answered with a Christmas verse and a donation given for a needy child. Advent Reflections, from the Glad • Tidings, was read with Mrs. Charles Wilkins, Mrs, Donald Simpson, Mrs. Warren Wylds, Mrs. Neil MacKenzie taking part. Pearl Carter •Passed away suddenly at Brucelea Haven, Walkerton on December 17, 1984 in her 82nd year, Pearl Carter, formerly of Lucknow. Dear mother of John Carter, Lucknow; Gordon Carter, Harriston and daughter, Bertha Bolton of Walkerton; also seven grandchildren -and five great grandchild- ren • She -is also survived by one sister, Mary Edgar'Of Lucknow and four brothers, Harry of GodCrich, Peter of Wingham. Ernie of • Lucknow and Levi of Huronview. • Funeral service was held at MacKenzie •and McCreath Funeral Home, Lucknow. • on December 19, 1984. Interment followedin South Kinloss Cemetery. -William Elgin Rintoul Members of the Rintoul family faced Christmas with sadness ' after death claimed the 'head of their household, William Elgin Rintoul of Whitechurch, Monday, December 10, 1984, in • St. Joseph's Hospital, London. He was in his 74th year and death followed a brief illness. Bill Rintoul was born in West Wawanosh Township on August 13, 1911, one of seven children of the late Alexander Rintoul and Jean Gillies. He received his' elementary education at Fordyce School and through- out most of his adult life he farmed the OBITUARY west half of Lot 27, Concession 11, West Wawanosh. He moved to Whitechurch in 1970 but remained active in farming. He was a member of Chalmers Presbyterian Church, Whitechurch. • Mr. Rintoul leaves many relatives and friends who grieve his passing. Missing him most are his wife, the former Norma Caldwell, whom he married in Blyth on September 28, 1940; his only son, Neil of West Wawanosh; and four daughters, Mrs. Dave (Anne) Oberholtzer of Water- loo, Mrs./Harry (Donna) Gutoskie of Kitch- ener; Mrs. Gord (Sharon) Campbell. Ancaster and Mrs. Leonard (Doris) Robin- son of East Wawanosh. There are 11 grandchildren; one brother, • Gordon of Whitechurch; and two sisters, Mrs. Ralph (Euphemia) Cameron, Lucknow, and Mrs. Jim (Freda) Reid of Florida. Friends paid their respects at The McBurney Funeral Horne where Mr. Rintoul rested until Wednesday, December 12, 1984, when funeral service was conducted at two o'clock by 'Rev. Paul L. Mills. Interment followed in Greenhill Cemetery, Lucknow.
