Santa visits Kairsheainstitute.
Kinloss Kairshea Women's Institute
held their annual Christmas party on
December 20 at the Anglican church hall.
The members •were served ' a delicious
Christmas ' dinner catered by the A.C.W.
Mrs. Leonard Clarke, president, wel-
comed everyone and wished them a Merry
Christmas. Mrs. Allan MacDougall thank-
ed the ladies for their excellent catering
service.
Mrs. Allan MacDougall opened the•
meeting part of -the evening by reading the
Christmas Stofy scriptures. Everyone was
pleased to hear that special Christmas
parcels were sent to members unable to
attend the party. Mrs. Cliff Roulston
reported on the catering, of the Lions dinner
and thanked the members who helped.
Mrs. Evan Keith began the party by
leading the ladies in a songfest of carols
accompanied by Mrs. John Forster. Mrs.
Keith-• condpcted 'a game of Christmas
Bingo. Mrs. Roy Finlayson won the prize,
so if you need Christmas advice, ask Betty!
Mrs. Keith, Mrs. Cliff Roulston and
Mrs. Ira Dickie presented a short Christ-
mas play entitled, The Christmon Tree. It
was excellent and much enjoyed by all. The
•
ladies took part in another game of skill
and the 'reds proved the best peanut
movers.
The special speaker for the evening was
Maxine Alton, who is a colour consultant
for Over the Rainbow Limited. Maxine
presented a slide show to explain how
proper use of colours.can work for you and.
not against you. Everyone enjoyed her
presentation and gained some helpful
suggestions.
Mrs. Allan .MacDougall gave a reading
on the Ch istmas traditions of individual
families.
A suspicious event occurred when Santa
wished everyone a Merry Christmas, with a
definite English accent and proceeded to
pass out gifts in a very organized manner
which led to further suspicions arising. It
was never confirmed but there seems to be
a strong connection between the arrival of
Santa Claus and the disappearance of Mrs.
Edisbury,
Mrs. Evan Keith Thanked all the ladies
who contributed to the evening's program.
Everyons in turn expressed their thanks to
Margaret for planning an evening . of
fellowship, and fun.
