Mr. Sutherland was born at Doruath, Scotland. and was a stone- mason by trade. He came to Canada forty-five yearn ago and settled at Gravenhurst, residing there until six months ago, when he came to Goderich to make his home with his friends Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Matheson, East street. He had no relatives in Canada. The funeral took place on Sunday afternoon from Wheeler's undertaking parlors to Maitland cemetery. Rev. George T.
