RADIATOR LEAKS -- — Stop the leak.1II the radiator -When -it is small: otherwise a lot of annoyance and expense will be experienced. Road vibration will cause breaka and leaks in the radiator, and the longer the leak is neglected the larger the break is When parking the car at a curb It Is important that tbe wheels are cramped to the right, se that the ear cannot move far accidentally. Tile emergency brake should be on and the gear In neutral before leaving the car. SHORT CIRCUITS Rablring of wires against some part oftheal c 1. frequently the met hassle ue ('q y cause of • short circuit, repair experts state. To obviate this danger where a wire is eapeawd a piece of rubber tub - Ing may be slipped over the section and then firmly taped into place. ADJUSTING THE i'ARBL'RETOR Never attempt to adjust a carburetor uule,'a the engine is is good order as to timing, compreaelon, Ignition and freedom from Hr leakage. Make ear- bereter adjustments only after the en- gine has been warmed to normal oper- ative temperature. Many of the various makes and models of carburetor have two adjustments for mixture quality, via., a low speed or idling adjustment and a high speed or ordinary running adjustment, and the obje(t-of there la to enable the mixture produced to be proportioned, so that it is neither too lean nor too rich for satisfactory per- formance and fuel economy. The low speed or idling adjustment is very often a eerew located near the throttle valve turning, which regulate,' the low speed Mixture. It should be set so that the engine will idle reliably, but with the mixture not richer than will give this result. The hlgb speed adjustment le usually a thumbscrew located in the badly of the carburetor, turning of wine!' regulates the richness of the running ml:ture at will. It should be so set by experlwent as to give the en- gine its teat power un the road, but without any sluggishness in accelera- tion or any tendency to blacken spark plugs with gasoline soot. There are other adjustments which ehould be handled only by an experienced me•hante. CARS SHOLLb BE LNSLRED Motorists should not allow them- selves to be caught napping in the matter of th-' Provincial "financial re- sponsibility law." The ',amplest way for the motorist to protect himself is to see an Insurance agent and take out a policy covering "public liability" and "property damage." Every motor - let knows how easily accidents may happen, and in such cases an insurance policy showing tinanetal responsibility may be the only thing that will save the motorist from the suspenelon of his right to drive on the highways.
