Credit Union names executive John Lavis of Clinton and Gerald Ferguson of Exeter were re-elect­ ed to the Board of Directors of the Clinton Community Credit Union at the organization’s 36th annual meeting on November 25, while Marj Dobson of Clinton was elected to fill the only other position left vacant by the termina­ tion of three members’ three-year terms of office on the seven-man board. Keith Tyndall of Clinton, Ernest Williams of Seaforth, Thomas Eadie of Goderich and Ray Garon of Clinton will continue as directors for 1987-88, and Antoine Garon of Clinton will continue as honorary director of the board. At the directors’ meeting im­ mediately following the general meeting, Mr. Lavis was re-appoin­ ted president; Mr. Tyndall was re-appointed vice-president; and Mr. Williams will continue to serve as secretary. Richard Lobb of Clinton and Jim Hunter of Lucknow were returned as member of the Credit (Loan) Committee, while Cliff Parker, Herb Duizer and Doug Cantelon will continue as members for the coming year. The Credit Commit­ tee meets every week to review loan applications. [OPEN: Mon.-Fri.8a.m.-5p.m. Eve.&Weekend-byappt. r The board of directors reported that 1986-87 was a year of steady progress at the Clinton Community Credit Union, with assets having increased to $48 million from $41 million in 1986, and a dividend of 7.25 per cent on share savings accounts, up from 6.5 per cent last year. The board also reported that it was pleased with the response to the 1986 by-law change increasing most memberships to a minimum of five $5 shares, resulting in a lower amount paid in income tax because of the increased capital base of the Credit Union branch. Loans Officer Roberta Wadel went on partial disability, requir­ ing the appointment of Janice de Konig and Sandra Eedy to jointly fill the position of full-time loan officers. Both women have been with the Clinton Branch for several years. The Credit Committee reported that it had reviewed 811 loans from the Clinton office, approving 616 of these; and had reviewed 269 applications from the Exeter of­ fice, approving 207.
