Myrtle Vodden elected to head Bly th UCW Thirty-seven Blyth United Church Women came to the manse last Monday, Dec. 14,tohearof their achievements as outlined in the convenors’ and leaders’ re ports and to also enjoy the Christmas atmosphere. Not only were the manses’ rooms as attractive as ever with Christmas decor, but included, this year, were two large orchid plants in bloom, the kind that flourishes 4n the Philippines, the native land of the Ramirez family. Lenora Davidson and June Peck added spiritual meaning, leading the worship service with a Christ mas theme. Rena Watt played for three Christmas hymns. To make a unique card kissing ball from Christmas cards, cut 12 cards into three-inch circles. Fold each circle in from four sides to create a square. Glue each folded tion to Blyth U.C.W. work, and her innovative ideas in planning events. In January, Susan begins her new duties in two executive positions in Huron-Perth Presby tery. Mary Wightman, Evelyn Smith and Norma Ramirez had provided dainty refreshments served at the meeting’s close, at which time Mrs. Webster and her assistants went on their merry way, distribut ing 18 poinsettias to shut-ins. The following is the executive for 1988-89: President, Myrtle Vod den; first Vice, June Peck; second Vice, Emily Phillips; secretary, Adeline Campbell; assistant Sec., Feme McDowell; corresponding sec., Lenora Davidson; treasurer, Edelgard Hoba; summer catering treas., Mary Holland; nominating edge to the folded edge of another circle until you have a three-dimen sional ball shape.
