Final sale of year on Dec. 29
The market at Brussels Stock-
yards saw choice steers and heifers
selling at prices $1.00 per cwt.
lower than last week's sale. Cows
sold $2.00 to $3.00 higher than last
week. Pigs sold under pressure.
There were 657 cattle, 651 pigs on
offer.
Choice steers sold from $85 to
$90, with sales to $91.25; good
steers sold from $83 to $86.
A black steer consigned by
Maple Emblem Farms of RR 1,
Dungannon, weighing 1270 lbs.,
sold for $91.25, with their total
offering of 41 steers averaging
1250 lbs. selling for an average
price of $88.44. A steer consigned
by Steve Adams of RR 5. Brussels,
weighing 13501bs., sold for $90.25.
Six steers consigned by Paul
Johnston of RR 2. Bluevale,
averaging 1255 lbs., sold for an
average price of $88.48 with sales
to $90.00.

Brussels showed her barrow to the Reserve Championship over 112
other hogs at the Ontario Junior Barrow Show at the Royal Winter Fair
on November 13. With Jennifer is her buyer, Jim Hunter of Quality
Swine Co-op in Shedden, which purchased the animal at $4.50/kg.

high of .99 cents per lb.; 40 to 50 lb.
