Bly th students ask Santa to remember others
DEAR SANTA,
Instead of just thinking about me
I would like you to bring peace in
the world. So there will not be a
Remembrance Day because no
body dies. That will be the best
Christmas present to all.

DEAR SANTA,
I would like to give ail the kids in
the hospitals a little something
cause 1 feel sorry for them that thev
can’t just get out of bed and get
dressed and take thebus home.
Some of them can’t even get out of
bed.Sowouldlike to help raise
money for them so they could get
proper homes and they could at
least have a good Christmas day.
So raise money for those and show
a little jov and Christmas spirit!

Children
will reflect
the holiday spirit
The magic of Christmas is
reflected in the spirit and enthusi-
asmwhichshines in the faces of
children delighting in the season.
To keep the love of children a
part of your holiday, there are
many ways to give your time and
care.
• Offer to babysit for busy parents.
Parents with 101 holiday errands to
run would be delighted by an
afternoon or day-long gift of
babysitting. With children well
taken care of, parents are free to
shop together or prepare their
home for the holidays.
• Help children Christmas shop for
their family. Children unable to
shop alone would be pleased to
have a non-family member assist
them in hunting for little holiday
surprisesfor their parents, sib
lings. and grandparents. Your help
in learning to wrap gifts would be
appreciated too!
•Takechildren to visitshut-ins. An
elederly or convalescing neigh
bour, unable to get out for the
Christmas season, would be de
lighted by a holiday visit from a
neighbourhood child. As a special
gesture, bring a small gift of
holiday treats which the child could
help to prepare.
• Teach children the joy of giving.
When counting blessings during
the holidays, parents often remind
their children about the millions of
less fortunate children in the
world. Children can learn the joy of
sharing by making their own
contributions to charities which
care for children. Encourage a
child to help around the house to
“ earn ’ ’ money for the childn ’s own
personal donation. A child can also
select a toy or game from his or her
toy box which can be wrapped and
given to an organization which
provides used toys for needy
children at Christmas.
The spirit of the holiday season
can be kept alive through the year
by little gifts of kindness we show
oneanother, nomatterwhatthe
age.
that can't afford clothes or any
thing some clothes and things they
need. And I would like you to give
people who can’t afford to pay the
bills some money to pay for them
and give everyone some Christmas
Spiret.
Laurie Wharton and Kevin Souch re-enact the creation of the lovely
Christmas carol Silent Night during the presentation of the Blyth
Public School concert for senior citizens on Wednesday last week. The
concert for parents and friends was presented Thursday night.
