Three senior students in a skit about Christmas across Canada perform as children from British Columbia, singing in the rain at their school's Christmas pageant last Friday. Sunday’s drenching rains made it seem that Huron County might be in for a “B.C. Christmas” for a while, until Monday brought back the welcome sun. Ethel Compiled by Mrs. Margaret McMahon. Phone 887-9250 14 tables at euchre There were 14 tables in play at the Dec. 14 euchre party held at the Ethel community hall. High lady for the evening was Beryl Smith while John Subject was high man. Alice Stevens was low lady and Stan Hewitt, low man. Holiday etiquette If you thank someone for a gift when you see him or her or talk on the phone, is that sufficient thanks? No. A written thank-you is in order for every person who gave you a present, whether or not you have already expressed your thanks in person or on the phone. A thank-you note can be read by several people and enjoyed when reread. It is the only proper kind of thanks. Margeurite Beirnes had the most lone hands. Awarded prizes for being at the lucky table were Stan Alexander, Violet Smith, Bill McClelland and Lois McLean. Those with the lucky tallies were Margaret Adams, Helen Alexander, Ken MacDonald and Cecil Raynard.
