Brussels students write to Santa Claus DEAR SANTA, Ifl could give one thing to each of myfamily members they would be: to Dad, I would give a train set because he really wants one and he has been good all year; to Mom, 1 would give a new car because she always wanted a new one and because the old one has to be fixed a lot; to Christine, 1 would give her lots ofbooks about dogs, cats, cows and horses because when we read together she says cows and cats and dogsand horses; and to Mike, 1 would give wrestlers so he won’t disturb me when I’m reading. For my dog Tessie, I would like a million birds to chase. For my Dad, I would wish for a basement full of food and a new recliner (Tessie sits on the old one). For my mum I would get her all the dresses and blouses and skirts and make-up I could because she deserves a lot for putting up with me for 10 years. Merry Christmas Emma Richards Grade 6/7 Brussels Public School Province extends farm assistance Farmers who do not have enough collateral to secure bank loans to cover operating costs will continue to benefit from the OperatingLoanGuarantee Pro­ gram (OLGP), Ontario Agriculture and Food Minister Jack Riddell announced recently. “Ontario farmers may continue to apply for operating loan guaran­ tees for an extended three-year period up to December 31, 1990,’’ said Riddell. The program assists needy farmers by providing guarantees to lending institutions. In the event of a default, the government would pay the lending institution the amount guaranteed.
