The Grade Two class from Blyth Public School paid a welcome
Christmas visit to Queens Village last week, to present the residents
with Christmas tree decorations they had made and to sing a number of
Christmas songs together. The visit was instigated by the Villa’s
custodian Kathy Bromley, who is also setting up a pen-pal
letter-writing campaign between students and residents.

On December 17, the Grade 2
class from Blyth Public School,
visited the Queens Villa Apart
ments on Queen Street. They
wanted to visit the residents and
share some letters and pictures,
and to give them each a salt and
flour tree decoration they had
made. Most of the decorations
were wreaths or candy canes the
students made in art and they were
later baked and varnished.
Ruby Philp, a resident, played
the piano while everyone else
joined in to sing Christmas Carols.
Later each child introduced him
self and said who their parents
were and where they lived. It was a
chance for everyone to get to know
each other. Everyone wished each
other a Merry Christmas.
