[A] Clerk-Treasurer Village of Brussels The Huron County Health Unit will be receiving $8,800 from the Ontario Ministry of Health to finance an AIDS information pro gram in the county. The Ontario Ministry of Health has announced it will be spending $7.1 million dollars for AIDS programs across the province. This money will be available for AIDS education, information, and sup port for community groups and health units. “Many people still lack a basic understanding of AIDS, or refuse to accept its realities,” said Health Minister Elinor Caplan in making the announcement. “It is therefore necessary to expand our groundwork of infor mation, education and compas sionate care. Until an effective vaccine is developed, this informa tion will be of even greater importance in fighting AIDS.” Of the $7.1 million dollars, $8,800 has been given to Huron County for a one-time grant. This may seem like a small percentage for the funding of the county’s AIDS program, but on the other hand there is only one known AIDS victim existing in Huron County.
