W. A. Mannings officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Mannings of Clinton and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Halley of Londesborough. Maid of honor was Andrea Clarke of Oakville and bridesmaids were Stacy Plant and Darlene Hulley, both of Londesborough. Best man was Mark Mitchell of Kitchener and ushers were Kevin Hulley of Brampton and Robert Radford of Londesborough. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Goderich Township Community Centre, Holmesville, after which the couple took a honeymoon trip to Florida. They will be residing in Seaforth. The congregation enjoyed Hea­ ther McDowell’s solo, “Light from a star far away’’. Rev. Rameriz, in his conversa­ tion with the children, talked about the significance ofour using the evergreen as our Christmas trees. He said that it keeps its greeness during every season and in the WMS celebrates Christmas The Christmas meeting of Mel­ ville W. M. S. was held at the Maple Villa Seniors Complex with 13 members and eight visitors pre­ sent. The meeting opened with the president Mrs. Helen Elliott, reading a poem “A child is born” and prayer. Mrs. Wilma Heming­ way was at the piano for the singing of Christmas hymns. The secretary reportwasgivenby Ruby Steiss and Evelyn Mair gave the treasur­ er report. A poem on “A Gift’ ’ was read by Leona Armstrong. Members are all to save their used stamps. Isobel Gibson read the Christmas scrip­ ture from Luke Chapter 2 and Meditation “The Anniversary”, and Ruby Steiss led in prayer. Evelyn Mair lit a candle sym- bolozing hope. Isabel Adams lit a candle symbolizing faith, Ruth Martin lit a candle for Joy, Wilma Hemingway lit a candle for love and Marguerite Krauter lit a candle for peace and all repeated a Christmas poem and Helen Elliott gave the Christmas story and Mr. Jamieson closed the meeting with prayer. A delicious lunch was served by the lunch committee and a social time was enjoyed. same way God cares for us at all times. The choir sang the anthem, “Song of the angels.” Rev. Rameriz titled his sermon ‘ * He will save His people. ’ ’ He said that Joseph by being willing to father Jesus himself became a son of God. He and Mary prepared themselves for the coming of the messiah. “We too must not only listen but must act” he said. ‘ ‘ Are we so busy doing things for ourselves that we forget to open our hearts that He may come in and remain with us?” he asked. The ushers were Jim Howson, John Blake, Ollie Craig and Lloyd Sippel. There will be a carol sing next Sunday at 10:45. Blyth Christian Reformed Church HIGHWAY 4, BLYTH Rev.
