Phone 523-4250 2 new members join Londesboro Lions At the regular meeting of the Londesboro and District Lions Club on December 3 Deputy District Governor Dennis Flavell of Kincardine performed installa­ tion exercises for two new mem­ bers - Hank Reinink and Bruce' Vincent. The Lions Club held a very White Gift Sunday at church There was a large congregation attending the White Gift Pageant service on Sunday. Greeting was Reg Lawson. The ushers were Tim Airdrie, Richard Burgsma, Sara Lyons and Theresa Knox. Sunday school pupils filled the choir loft and the juniors occupied the front seat. Rev. Snihur wel­ comed all and he gave the call to worship and the announcements. The flowers on the memorial stand were in memory of Harry Watkins and in memory of Mr. John Turner. The service was conducted by Sunday School pupils and prepar­ ed by the Sunday School teachers. Next Sunday everyone is to bring their picture to put on the tree. The junior choir sang two successful euchre party on Novem­ ber 27 with 36 tables in play. A profit of approximately $800 will be used in community projects. The topwinnerswere Al Donaldson and Wayne Rouse. A cheque for $1,500 has been forwarded to the Legion Auxiliary Ladies of Blyth to help pay for the Lift at the Blyth Arena. In other business the club has decided to purchase a 45 foot semi trailer to easier facilitate the handling of newspapers for re­ cycling. The Lions Family Christmas Party will be held on December 17 at Londesboro Hall with the Lions and their families enjoying a pot luck supper. anthems with Marsha Szusz as director and Deanna Lyon as organist. The story begins, contin­ ues and never ends. It was very impressive. The White Gifts were all brought to the front and put in a white box. Collection was also brought to the front to the collection plate. A short meditation was given by Rev. Snihur. Rev. Snihur thanked all the teachers and pupils. On December 13 after church they will be sharing in the congregational Christmas with a pot luck dinner. Stay after church and enjoy this special time of food, fellowship and games. People Mrs. Laura Lyon entertained her family for Christmas on Sunday, November 29. Those present were Edythe Beacom, Murray, Shirley, Bradley, and Deanna Lyon and Gord Collins and Bert and Joanne Lyon, Wayne, Jane and Justin Lyon, Ron, Kathy and Laura, Kerissaand A.J. Moes, and Calvin and Cheryl Bakelaar. Congratulations to Myrna and Eric Driscoll on the birth of a daughter, born December 2, Eliz­ abeth Glenice Jean, a sister for Melissa and Christopher. Muriel and Patricia Millson of Woodstock spent Thursday and Friday with Muriel’s mother Dora Shobbrook and Trish’s grand­ mother. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Henderson from Vanastra and Mr. and Mrs. Rick Richardson, Exeter visited on Sunday with Jack and Helen Lee. Explorers meet The Explorers started their expedition by singing the Explorer song and saying the purpose. They had S9for collection. They sang Happy Birthday for Linda Horban- uik and Lindsy Anderson. For the craft they made Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus and some reindeers for their grandmothers.
