Phone 887-6645 Local couples attend Foresters Assembly The Canadian Foresters are holding their first euchre party of theseasonat8:30p.m. this Friday, December 4, in the Cranbrook Community Hall. Everyone is welcome to attend. The annual Christmas Concert will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church on the evening of Decem­ ber 22. Be sure to mark the date on your calendar. Early Christmas The Community Centre has been a busy spot. The Knight families had an early Christmas on November 21 and the Terpstra’s are celebrating theirs on Sunday, Nov. 29. The Canadian Foresters hosted a family dance on Friday evening with music supplied by Tiffin’s Orchestra. Mr. and Mrs. Mac McIntosh, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Jacklin, Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Strickler and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Conley attended the WesternOntarioProvincial As­ sembly of the Canadian Foresters, held at Wallaceburg on November 20-21. On Sunday morning about 60 of the Foresters attended the church service at Corunna where Rev. Stanley McDonald is the minister. About 200 Foresters attended the banqueton Saturday evening in the Oak Inn at which time Jack Conley was named Forester of the year for Western Ontario. $6,140 was donated to Cancer Research, $2,000 to Diabetic Research, $2,000to Aldheimer’s Disease, and $3,600 to Canadian Foresters Games for the Physically Disabled. It was a very successful assembly. Veitch family memorial Clare Veitch and daughter Janet presented a beautiful needlepoint picture to Knox Church, Cran- brook, in loving memory of Jean Veitch at the morning service on Nov. 22. Afterward, the Veitch family entertained friends and relatives for dinner. Mrs. Leslie Knight, Mrs. Jim Hart, Mrs. Bob Locking, Mrs. John Vanass and Mrs. Jack Clark attended an Institute workshop on the new handbook in Fordwich on Monday. It was a very informative and enjoyable meeting. GRADE7CLASS by A. Uhler and P. Menzi Every Friday our Gr. 7 class at Grey Central goes to Wingham High School for Family Studies and Industrial Arts. Our Family Stud­ ies group deals with learning about families and what a family is. We are also working on a babysitting kit consisting of games and many types of different books. As well, this class is learning how to cook some delicious foods. Our teacher is Mrs. Platzer. In Industrial Arts we are learn­ ing how to make objects out of wood Grey Central Echo and acrylic. Our first major project was to make a wooden toy for a child. We are also making some fancy key chains out of acrylic. We will spend two weeks at the end of our class working with leather. Our teacher is Mr. Martin. The classes will trade subjects at the end of January. MUSIC ENRICHMENT by B. Earl and D. Weraham On Nov. 18, Ryan Finch, Tanya Vandale, Josh McCutcheon, Erin Mitchell and Sandra Leuenberger went to a Music Enrichment at Brussels. They learned to play different instruments. On Nov. 19 they went to London and listened to the London Symphony. They also looked inside a piano, watched films, sang songs, and looked inside a fan organ. Grades 4, 5, and 6 each had two people from their classroom par­ ticipate in this program. They all said they had "lots of fun.
