It was a defensive struggle all the way with the goal tenders coming up with some fine saves as Blyth shaded Huron Park 2-1. The first two periods were scoreless before Huron Park scor ed their only goal of the game half through the third frame. Blyth evened the count less than a minute later, however, on a crafty goal by Jonathan Collins. Ryan Chamney set up the goal on a remarkable rink length rush, as the smoke billowed from the jets that must have been attached to his skates. The goal made the save on his individual effort but the puck drifted back to defenceman Col lins. Jonathan lifted a high back hand shot that went behind the goalie and into the net. Thirty seconds later Blyth notch ed the winner. Brian McNichol gave the puck to Michael Bromley in the Blyth zone. Michael scored on a great solo effort as he weaved his way down the ice and put a couple of slick moves on the Huron Park goalie. Blyth finished the game strongly and held off a late rally as Huron Park pulled their goalie in the dying seconds. Blyth has two games scheduled this week. On Wednesday they play host to Elma Logan at 7:15 p.m. whileon Friday, they travel to Brussels for a 7 o’clock game.
