Faye Bolger named new Bly th Postmaster Faye Bolger of Blyth became the new Bly th postmaster on Monday filling the position that had been vacant since March 1. Mrs. Bolger has worked at the Blyth post office part time since 1981. After being without a postmast­ er since March 1, Blyth officially got a postmaster Monday when Faye Bolger of Blyth was appoint­ ed to the position. She took over the duties Monday after acting postmaster Dorothy Oster who had been filling in. Clarence Holmes of Seaforth Field Blyth United about 'talent On nnday, Nov. 15 Rev. The congregation were thanked for making the McClure dinner theatre evening a real success. The Sunday school enjoyed the new look in the lower assembly with the newly decorated walls and new floor covering. Legion Auxiliary donates to local groups David Bending & Associates BESTWAY CLEANING SERVICE CARPETS AND UPHOLSTERY Meetings have resumed for the Blyth Legion Ladies Auxiliary with a full agenda until the end of the year. The busy summer of catering gave their fund-raising a big boost and the ladies can report that the “Lift” is now almost a reality. This Lift will mean much to many. Zone sports began the fall season and two teams, crib and darts have progressed to the next round with the dart team bringing home the district trophy. Donations have been given to the Brownies, Guides and Scouts in appreciation for their help with catering and the usual donations have been sent to several County organizations. Two steam tables have been purchased which will be a big plus when serving meals. Fourteen members from the Branch and Auxiliary spent a very rewarding afternoon with some veterans at Westminster Campus, entertain­ ing them to bingo and a lunch. The two ‘‘adopted vets” in Parkwood were visited too. Zone Commander, Mrs. Mary Haugh was guest speaker at the November meeting at which time, members were updated on Zone and Provincial matters. A card party was held Sat., Nov. 7 in the Legion Hall and Parties will be continued every two weeks during the winter. Proceeds from the 1986-87 season will be used for outside repairs to the Legion Hall. The annual Church Parade for Remembrance week was held Sunday, Nov. 8 at Blyth United Church where Rev. Ramirez gave an inspiring message. As padre of Branch 420, he also led a very worthwhile service on Nov. 11 in the Memorial Hall stressing Peace both days. The next meeting of the Auxil­ iary will be the Christmas Party on Dec. 2 at the Blyth Inn and will be a fitting end to another successful year. Insurance & Financial Services Ltd. Ruth Sb.iell and Graeme Mc­ Dowell were the top prize winners at the weekly Lost Heir card party at Blyth Memorial Hall Wednes­ day night. Winnie Vincent and Harvey Sillib had the low scores.
