A reader reports that Huron County young people did them selves and their families proud in the Junior Barrow Show at the Royal Winter Fair last Friday. Watching Kate and Jennifer Proc ter, Belgrave, Jeff and Brent Robinson, Walton, Melvin Bergs- ma, Londesboro, Cindy Camp- schroer, Blvth put their barrows through their paces was part of a most enjoyable afternoon. The judge Dan Frobose of Bowling Green, Ohio provided both encour agement and show pointers. Fina lists in two of the bar row classes were required to drive their animals between two chairs or around a figure eight. The horses, cattle, Ontario Foodland area and floral display were as usual very popular spots. A little girl hanging on the fencing and calling to her parents to come and look at apen of young Tamworth weaners, a fasti dious teenager holding her nose as she toured the livestock section, a group of people watching a sheep being shorn, opening night horse show patrons looking at the various displays in their finery, rural and city dwellers mingling together and folk with that faraway look in their eye that told of their childhood days on the farm are all part of what the Royal Winter Fair is all about. Kim Mulvey, front left, and Susanne Gros haw, both of Brussels, were enrolled as Guides in the First Brussels Company on November 10. Presenting the girls with their new ties and pins were leaders Wendy Heibein, left, and Sherry Souch. The Brussels Girl Guides are selling raffle tickets on an Alf doll, a Christmas turkey, and a Christmas cake to raise money for their projects. ^^investments BEST RATES FINANCIAL CENTRE Goderich 519-524-2773 1-800-265-5503 J Professional Photography in the Blyth-Brussels area •Weddings ’Portraits •Family Gatherings Walden Photo 523-9212 Westfield, 5 mi.
