Blyth House
league Atoms
tie
BY SIL VER SKATES
On Saturday, the Atoms travell
ed to Bayfield for their first regular
game of the season. The first
period of the game was scoreless
with lots of action from both teams.
Halfway into the second period
Bayfield scored the first goal of the
game, but before the period was
over Blyth player Benjie Hakkers
scored, assisted by Shawn Hakkers
and Tim Lyons.
The third period was tense with
lots of shots on net with many near
goals, but Josh Yanchus did well in
stopping them. Many just missed
going in, hitting the goal posts or
the crossbar for both teams, but
each team held its own leaving the
game tied 1 -1 at the end of the third
period.
Last week we named one of the
coaches as Joe Fraser; this should
have been Randy Fraser, Joe’s
father. We apologize for the error.
