Phone 887-9487 More than 100 attend Halloween party A family Halloween Party was held Friday evening, October 30 in the Belgrave Arena. Over 100 children were in attendance. Costume prizes were: Ages 0-5, Best costume, Jessica Lockridge; funniest. Holly Phieffer; best Halloween. Janelle Anderson; scariest. Michael Mali; best cou­ ple, Lisa and Justin Black. Ages 6 - 10. Best costume. Andersons attend Laurier convocation Mr. and Mrs. Ross Anderson attended the Fall Convocation of Wilfrid Laurier University held in the Kitchener Memorial Auditor­ ium on November 1. Their daugh­ ter Sheila received an Honours, Bachelor of Business Administra­ tion Degree conferred by Admini­ stration Degree conferred by Dr. Maureen Forrester, Chancellor of the University. Others present for the ceremony were Doug Cousins, Cambridge; Richard Anderson, Goderich; Mrs. Rick Ball, Hanover; and Mrs. Rob Roy of Lakefield. Following the graduation and reception at the University, all enjoyed dinner at the Charcoal Steak House, Kitchener. Ages 11-14, Best costume, Mark Robinson; funniest, Kyle Moran; best Halloween, Michael Rammeloo; scariest. Brad Robin­ son; best couple, Krista Bird and Darryl Jardin. Additional, Largest family in costume, Ron and Marg Cook; best adult couple, Mr. and Mrs. Allan Sowden; youngest (four months), Nathan Mason; oldest, Mrs. Bruce- Campbell. Winner of draw for free bus fare on the Ladies Club shopping trip on November 14 was Mrs. Mary Cook. Judges were Mrs. Laura John­ ston and Mrs. Irene Lamont. r Belgrave 4-H club holds dinner The fifth meeting of the Bel­ grave 4H club was held in the Women’s Institute Hall October 20. Members started their meeting by cutting up vegetables in different ways. They then figured out what foods each person was going to bring for their party the next week with their friends and parents. They then did the work in there books. The sixth meeting was held October 27. They had a dinner with 28 present including parents and friends. The meal included Lasag­ na, vegetable dips, salads and refreshments. Members then cleaned up and went home. Farm Bank Centre opened in Exeter The Royal Bank of Canada recently opened its first Huron County Agricultural Centre at 305 Main Street in Exeter. The centre will provide clients with specialized agricultural ac­ count management for all their borrowing and operating needs, including Royfarm credit and Farmcheck. It will also service secondary agricultural industries in the area, and is expected to attract agricultural customers re­ quiring specialized professional account management. The new centre will work closely with the OMAF office in Clinton and withCentraliaCollege, and will also serve as a centre for agriculture account management training within the Royal Bank. Carrots originated in the near East and in middle Asian areas including India, Afghanistan and eastern Russia. 12 tables at Belgrave euchre Twelves tables were in play at the weekly euchre held in the W.I. Hall, Belgrave, October 28. Winners were: high lady, Mrs. Agnes Bieman; lucky draw lady, Mrs. Jim (Edith)Coultes; low lady, M rs. Vera Marsh; novelty lady. Mrs. Lewis Stonehouse; high man. Herb Clayton; lucky draw man, Lewis Stonehouse; low man, Gor­ don Louttit; novelty man, Mrs. Garner Nicholson (playing as a man). There will be euchre again November 4. People Harold Keating of the Woodley Home, Wroxeter recently visited with his sister Mrs. Stanley Snell, nieces Mrs. Shirley Guite and Mrs. Eileen Beecroft all of London. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Kundert of Switzerland spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Bob Gordon. Mrs. Clara Black of Campbell- ville spent the weekend with her sister Mrs. Sarah Anderson. Mrs. Florence McArter of RR 5, Brussels has recently purchased a new home at 19 Parker Drive. Belgrave residents welcome Flor­ ence to the village. THE CITIZEN, WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 1987.
