Kurt Lentz offers one of the last of his basket of apples for sale. Proceeds of the apple day go to Scout work. Swinging Seniors hold party Thirty members of the Blyth Swinging Seniors were entertain­ ed by the Ladies Auxiliary of the Legion in the Legion Hall on Wednesday, October 28. President John Hesselwood wel­ comed everyone and he announced that the next meeting be in the Memorial Hall on November 25 with Harvey McDowell showing his pictures on California. He also mentioned the birthday party at Huronview on December 9. Theafternoon was spent playing Euchre and Lost Heir. At the conclusion of the games Joe Chatterton on behalf of the Legion and Auxiliary presented prizes to the winners as follows: for Euchre: high lady, Clara Rinn; low lady, Ida Procter; most lone hands, Vera Hesselwood; high man, Jim Mc­ Call; low man, Margaret Nesbit (playing as a man); most lone hands, Effie McCall (playing as a man). For Lost Heir: high lady, Evelyn Smith; low lady, Gene Snell; high man, Charlie Smith; low man, Gladys Johnston (playing as a man). The door prizes were won by Millar Richmond, Flora Fear, Lloyd Walden, Ida Procter, Lenora Davidson and Vera Hesselwood. After the games a delicious lunch was served. John then thanked the ladies for the hospital­ ity. Janice Henry replied saying they enjoyed entertaining the Seniors and would like to do it again.
