Rebekahs install officers People Compiled by Marilyn Higgins Call887-6754 Mrs. Mildred Jacklin attended the funeral of her aunt, Mrs. Edith Lackie cn Friday, Oct. 30, one day before her 88th birthday. Mrs. Lackie had lived her entire life in Mount E'gin except for the last sixteen months while she was a residentofthe Ingersoll Retire­ ment Home. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Ward of St. Mary’s visited last Wednesday with Mrs. Jean Higgins who is a patient in Listowel Memorial Hospital. Hunting Season is now in full swing so we will be seeing a lot of hunters in orange safety clothes. Visitors over the weekend with Mrs. Jean Higgins were Mrs. Mary Edgar of RR 1, Allenford and Michael Edgar of Owen Sound. Majestic Wl holds euchre The Majestic Women’s Institute held a euchre party in the library on Monday evening with seven tables. The prizes were as follows: high lady, Mrs. Mary Lowe; high man, John Lowe; low lady, Mrs. Jane Devries; low man, John Simpson; lucky chair, Mrs. Wilda Bailie; most lone hands, Mrs. Marjorie Ritchie; lucky cup, Mrs. Roberta Simpson; lady’s birthday nearest the date, Mrs. Mary Clark; man’s birthday, Mrs. Doris McCall (play­ ing as a man). The next euchre party to be sponsored by the Women’s Insti­ tute will be held on November 30. Noble Grand Leona Connelly conducted the regular meeting of Morning Star Rebekah Lodge. Several letters were read re­ questing donations, one to be sent to Friendship Survival House of Huron County and one to Brussels Public School, also one to Humani- tarion Services. The group was invited to attend a dinner and Fashion show winners named Brussels Legion Ladies Auxili­ ary hosted a fashion show with fashions from SomeThing Special of Brussels on Thursday night at the Legion Hall in Brussels. The show was so popular that everyone who wanted to come couldn’t be accommodated. Area women served as models while Brian Elmslie was the master of ceremonies. Mary Lou Johnston and Leasa Yule provided the music. Winners of door prizes were Patricia TenPas, Kathy Campbell, Sheila Cousins, Martha Logan, Cathy Marks, Marie Campbell, Evelyn Blake, Mrs. Hamstra, Ella Graber, Lyn Steffler, Yvonna Zyta and Anne Williamson. A draw was made for a freshly-dressed chicken, with Edna Pearson being the winner. The lunch committee served a delicious lunch of cake, ice cream and tea.
