Vernon Squire from the Yukon was visiting at Windsor and decided to visit with Mildred. Molesworth W.I. held the first euchre of the season at the Ethel Hall. Ethel W.I. will follow next Monday. October 26 with theirs. Ladies are asked to bring lunch and the price remains the same. Congratulations to Scott Cardiff and Kendra Fischer. They were married on Friday evening in Brussels. Best wishes to Brian and Jan Dietner on their marriage which took place Saturday in Brussels. Bar­ bara Grube gave a reading on the homeless and provided the smile as well. Jean Fraser and Pat Keffer will be delegates to the Brussels Industrial Committee promotion. A work shop on the new W.I. hardbook is being held in the Fordwich Hall on November 23 at 10 a.m. A donation is being sent to the Poppy Fund as well as one to the Salvation Army Red Shield in honour of Ralph and Thelma Keffer’s upcoming 50th anniver­ sary. The November meeting will be held at Lou Raynard’s home at 8 p.m. Club cooks up storm On October 13 the third meeting of the Ethel II4-H club was held at Beth Earl ’ s. The name of the club is to be “The Fruit of the Loom’’. The meeting started with the 4-H pledge and the roll call which was an ad for a certain type of food. Using carrots as an example the members were shown cooking, panning, microwaving, steaming and stir-frying methods of cooking the carrots. Each member tasted these carrots and filled in the chart in their books. The club then had four members make stir-fry vegetables and everyone tasted them. The club ended the meeting with the 4-H motto. One-stop one step closer Interested groups, agencies and individuals are invited to attend a public meeting, October 29, 1987, 2:00 p.m., at Clinton Town Hall to learn more about One Stop Access. Input from this meeting will be the first step in development of the One Stop Access pilot program. This program will assist with the development of a more co-ordinat­ ed approach to the provision and planning of services for the elderly by improving access to services. In Huron County, the Board of Health has been selected as a local authority, responsible for plann­ ing, development and manage­ ment of One Stop Access. They will be assisted in the development of their pilot project proposal by a research team from the University of Guelph.
