County to reintroduce bill
to change library board

The library board has again
requested that private members
bill be introduced that makes the
board committee which is respon
sible to council, as well as being
composed of members of council.
The county has previously tried
to introduce such a bill during the
last meeting of the provincial
legislature; however, the bill did
not pass before an election was
called. Thus, the bill is considered
dead, and must be re-introduced.
Exeter reeve Bill Mickle was
concerned about the reintroduc
tion of the bill saying, ‘‘The
Municipal Act is unclear on the
counties’ responsibility (in this

librarian.
It is reported that Beth Ross is
currently employed as assistant
chief librarian in Oxford County,
and has been employed in that
capacity for the past nine years.
Ms. Ross was one of six final
candidates interviewed for the job.
Book circulation was reported
again to be down during the month
of July. Circulation had almost
climbed to the average level during
the month of June, but was down
by 3,057 books for the month of
July. To the end of July, book
circulation is down by 13,705 books
over the same period in 1986.

Rev. Dave Snihur officiated at
the wedding ceremony of Steve
Stratton to Glenyce McClinchey at
Knox United Church, Auburn on
September 5, 1987.
The groom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. William Stratton of Hanover
and the bride, the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Harold McClinchey, RR
1, Auburn.
Matron of honour was Mrs.
Karen McClinchey, sister-in-law
of the bride, from Kitchener.
Bridesmaids were Mrs. Wendy
VanOsch, Lucknow, cousin of the
bride, and Mrs. Sandra Nicholson,
sister of the groom, of Blyth.
Flowergirls were Julie and Kim
McCullough, nieces of the bride,
from Holmesville.
Groomsman was Les Knott of
Rodney, friend of the groom.
Guests were ushered by Robert
McCullough of Holmesville,
brother-in-law of the bride; Doug
Perry of Windsor, friend of the
groom; and Gary Nicholson,
brother-in-law of the groom, of
Blyth.
Following a reception held at the
Blyth and District Community
Centre, the couple departed on a
wedding trip to Montego Bay,
Jamaica. They will be residing at
