THE ICON COMPUTERS
by P. Menzi and A. Uhler
This week and next we have the
Icon computers at our school. We
asked Christine McQueen from
grade seven how she liked them.
Christine likes drawing the best of
all. She thinks they are neat.
We also asked Missy McClellan
from Kindergarten how she liked
the Icon computers. Missy really
likes working on the computers.
The computers are at our school
until October 2. They are educa
tional along with being a lot of fun.
The pupils really like working on
them.
HOUSELEAGUE SOCCER
by S. Boyd and J. Brown
She kicks the ball and scores.
That was Becky Earl from the
soccer team the Tornadoes. This
year we have Senior Girls, Senior
Boys, and Junior Boys and Girls
mixed soccer leagues.
The houseleague soccer started
in September and will probably
finish between the middle or end of
October. The girls teams are the
Tornadoes, the Roots, and the
Comets.
The boys teams are the Express,
the Wildcats, and the Blizzards.
There are approximately 11-12
people on each team.
The person responsible for the
organization of the soccer teams is
Mr. Whiteley, the school principal.

Doris and Archie Jacklin have
returned homefromatrip to the
Maritimeprovinces. They were
accompanied by Mr. and Mrs.
Gordon Hall of Manitoba. A car
and many contests.
In the parade Brussels school
won first from Kindergarten to
grade 4. Grey Central won first
from grade 5 to 8. There were five
rides. Most of the children liked the
swinger because all the other
rides were for the younger child
ren. Some of the children thought
there were too many bees.
There were lots of nice things to
buy, but they usually broke. There
were lots of different exhibits such
as cupcakes, flowers, vegetables,
toys, writing, different kinds of
books and there were also different
kinds of vegetable displays. There
were many different kinds of
animals such as calves, bulls,
sheep, rabbits, roosters, raccoons,
goats, and pigeons. For most of us
it was a fun day!
PREPARING FOR THE FAIR
by D. Uhler and M. Marchitto
Many of our pupils entered
contests at the Fall Fair.
It takes a lot of work to get rabbits
prepared for the Brussels Fall Fair.
You should put medicated powder
on them so they don’t get sick. You
should comb the fur and take a cage
for your rabbit.
Some students enter in the
baking category. Usually you bake
the night before so it won’t spoil.
To have school work go to the fair it
has to be neat, have correct
spelling and neat pictures if
needed.
It may take a lot of work to get
prepared for the fair but, it sure is
fun!
