Light offering of cattle sell on active demandI A light offering of steers and heifers sold on an active demand at fully steady prices to last week’s sale. Cows sold a strong $2.00 higher. Pigs were higher and veal were steady. There were 466 cattle, 95 sheep, and 669 pigs on offer. Choice steers soldfrom $88 to $92 with sales to $94. Good steers were $84 to $88. A steer consigned by George Underwood Farms of RR 1, Wingham weighing 1190 lbs. sold for $94 with their total offering of 35 steers averaging 1259 lbs., and selling for an overall price of $89.76. Four steers consigned by Maurice Hallahanof RR 1, Bel­ grave, averaging 1237 lbs. sold for $91.60 with his total lot of 13 steers, averaging 1251 lbs., and selling for an average price of $89.64. A steer consigned by Roy Sage of RR 1, Newton, weighing 1300 lbs. sold for $91.50. Two steers consigned by Paul Johnston of RR 2, Bluevale, averaging 1195 lbs. sold for an average price of $90.50 with sales to $91. A charlois steer consigned by Warden amd Glen Haney of RR 4, Seaforth weighing 1030 lbs. sold for $91 with his total lot of four steers averaging 1123 lbs., and selling for an overall price of $89.39. Fourteen steers consigned by Maple Emblem Farms of RR 1, Dungannon averaging 1210 lbs., sold for an average price of $89.36 with sales to $91. Three hereford steers consigned by Jack Bowman of RR 5, Brussels averaging 1170 lbs. sold for $90.50, with his total lot of 10 steers averaging 1150 lbs. selling for an average price of $88.94. Choice heifers sold from $87 to $90 with sales to $91.75. Good heifers were $84 to $87.
