Lorenzo Ramirez’ sermon Sunday morning in Biyth United Church was “faith as trust in God’s abiding love.’’ He based his meditation on the message Jesus gave his disciples when he told them not tobe anxious for anything, in Luke 12: 25-31. He said that we all know that people need shelter, food, etc.: but these things should not be our end in life but only our means of life. He stated that if we have trust we will not become overly anxious. He said that even in trouble God can show us something beautiful. “It is not always best to have more.’’ He closed his sermon with verses from Proverbs 3: 5-10 and the promise given by Jesus, “Seek His King dom and all these things shall be yours also. The choir sang “There is sunshine in my soul today’’. Thirteen children attended Junior congregation with Mrs. Wm. Burkholder as their leader. Mr. Rameriz illustrated a story of trust for the children by showing them tulipbulbswhichafterbeingdry all summer are planted, trusting that they will bloom in the spring. It was announced the World Wide Communion would be cele brated next Sunday, Oct. 4. in the morning and the U.C.W. Thank- offering will be at the evening service.
