Robert Dickert hired to run Morris grader A Bluevale-area man has been hired as grader operator for Morris Township, following the recent retirement of Jim Casemore of RR 4, Wingham after 25 years of service on township roads. Robert Dickert of RR 2, Blue vale, was selected for the job by council, one offive persons who were interviewed for the position prior tothe regular council meeting on September 22. Thirteen appli cations were received by deadline, as well as one which came in after the deadline and was returned unopened. Mr. Dickert's employment is subject to the usual probationary period, and will be reviewed by council next April. Mr. Casemore was the guest of honour at a small retirement party held at the Morris Township Shed on September 18, and attended by members of council and township employees. He was presented with an engraved watch and a cheque from the township in recognition of his years of service. Meanwhile, an apparent discre pancy in the price quoted by Champion Road Machinery in Goderich to supply Morris Town ship with a^new grader, and subsequently accepted by council for delivery in mid-October, came under discussion at the council meeting on September 22. Accord- ing to a spokesman for the township, there is a marked difference between the price Champion quoted to Morris and the price quoted to a nearby township for a similar machine at the same time, and a representa tive for John Deere has contacted Morris officials to suggest that the project be re-tendered. Further discussion of the matter will take place at a later meeting of council.
