Short statement of the reasons for the proposed designation: The Cameron House, part lot 16, concession 11 has been recommended for designation for historical and architectural purposes. It was built by Henry A. Mueller in 1869 and was purchased by John Cameron Sr. in 1875and remained in the Cameron name for over 100 years. The thirteen room residence is given a very unique and solid appearance by the glassed in tower, six over six windows and the limestone blocks carved from the bed of the nearby Maitland River.
