PAGE 3. ■*loses out on Pride grant application for 1987 A change in the thinking behind the awarding of PRIDE program funding apparently helped kill Blyth’s application for this year at least. Council learned that it had lost its application for money because too much of its proposal was People Registration for Blyth Beavers, Cubs and Scouts will take place at Blyth Public School on Thursday, Sept. 17 from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. Again this year the groups are short of leaders. If no leaders are available for the Scout troupe there won’t be one. Beavers and Cubs will be on a “First come - first serve’ ’ basis as both groups have a limited number of leaders. Please come and volunteer your time for your kids. Mrs. Zella Patterson and Ken visited with her son Bill in University Hospital on Sunday. Mrs. Ella Carter visited with her son Ken McGowan in University Hospital on Sunday. We wish both gentlemen a speedy recovery to better health. Mr. Gabriel Lauzon of Windsor spentthe weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Laurie Scott. Gabriel was a former school chum of Laurie when they both attended public school at No. 1 Morris Township. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Daer and Patricia and Mrs. Winnie Johnston visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Bert Daer. When one visits Blyth, its theatre, and its guest homes, one never knows what excitement lies ahead.
