Hard working group
behind the scenes
keeps Reunion going
lt takes a lot of months of hard
work to put on a show of the calibre
of the Huron Pioneer Thresher and
Hobby Association Reunion each
year, and often the people behind
the scenes get little reward other
than the satisfaction of a job well
done.
It is only fitting that some of the
key people in the organization
should be recognized, and also that
their phone numbers should be
listed here for future reference.

han and today’s president, Bill
Vincent.
There have been four treasurers
over the years: Alec Manning,
(1962-68); George Watt, (1968-72);
Simon Hallahan, (1973-82) and
Carman Craig at present.
Marian Hallahan became only
the second secretary in the organ-
ization’s history when she took
over from Simon Hallahan in 1981.
In the first show there were four
steam engines. Last year there
were 16 steam engines and
innumerable gas tractors and other
pieces of pioneer farm equipment.
The arena is filled with crafts. The
upstairs auditorium sees bountiful
meals served. There are exhibits of
everything from toy farm equip
ment to old equipment manuals.
There is entertainment with old
time fiddling and step dancing at
the stage area.
There is, in short, 26 Reunion:
after that first reunion, plenty o
things for those 12,000 plus people
to see and do.
