Keith Hay on Tuesday, the day the doctor’s new office on Blyth’s main street opened for business. Dr. Hay’s office will be open in Blyth Monday mornings, as well as Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, while he will continue to keep his Clinton office open five half-days a week, as he has for the past two years. Blyth Inn team wins championship People Coffee Break and Story Hour will start again on September 30. Coffee Break is an interdenom­ inational Bible Study. Everyone can participate for fellowship and Bible study. Preschoolers are able to go to Story Hour at the Blyth CRC while the mothers and ladies have their study at the Blyth United Church. The group meets Wednes- day at 10a.m. sharp until 11:30 a.m.Comejoin us for coffee and fellowship. NW of Blyth The Blyth Inn Slopitch team competed in the Winthrop tourna­ ment on Labour Day weekend and pulled off four straight wins to capture the “A” championship for the second year in a row. On Friday night Blyth met the Benmiller Cornhuskers and squeaked out a 7-6 victory to advance in the “A” round. The next game was against a tough squad from Shipka. It was a defensive battle all the way until late in the game, with Blyth losing 2 -1 going into the sixth inning. The bottom of the Blyth Batting order strung together a bunch of singles to score 5 runs, then scored two Blyth 1/1/7 hears Angela Nethery The Blyth Women’s Institute met on Thursday, September 3 in the Blyth United Church. Jean Nethery gave the report of the 90th Anniversary of the founding of the Women’s Institute held at North Bay. Angela Nethery, Huron County Dairy Princess was guest speaker. Angela told of some of the events she has attended during the past year, also she has been guest speaker at eight different Insti­ tutes. The dairy farmer is a hard working man, she said. However, some day in the future our modern milking parlours may be run by computers and robots. As Osteo­ porosis is a disease many older people suffer from, it is very importantfor us to consume plenty of calcium. This is found in milk and some green leafy vegetables.
