Since last March, when Hay’s expanding practice outgrew the facility he shared with Dr. R. W. Street in Blyth, Dr. Hay’s patients have had to travel to Clinton to see him, where he maintains an office for five half-days per week at the town’s new Medical Building. It will be good to be back in Blyth again,” said Dr. Hay. ‘‘I feel a strong relationship with the people of this area.” Starting September 1, Dr. Hay’s Blyth office will be open for three half days per week, 9 a.m. to noon on Monday, and 2 - 5 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. For the present, he plans to keep his Clinton office for the same five half days per week, but says it will depend on what the people of the area want, and on how rapidly his practice grows at the Blyth office. Ultimately, he hopes to have the Blyth office open five days a week, but this would meantakingona partner, a second doctor who would complement both practices. Dr. Hay says he likes having a small-town practice because it gives him more chance to practice what he calls ‘ ‘ true medicine” than is possible in a city, where he says a doctor of family medicine is often only a ‘‘doorway to specialists.” He notes that much credit is due to the Clinton Public Hospital, which has assisted him in setting up the Blyth office, and is eager to maintain a strong presence in the Blyth area.
