Obituary
Morris Township Council met
for nearly five hours on August 4 to
consider a lengthy agenda, with
one of the foremost items being the
opening of tenders and subsequent
acceptance of a bid from Champion
Road Machinery.of Goderich to
supply a Class 7, Model 740 motor
grader complete with snow wing,
differential drive, air conditioning
and Michelin tires, spare and
chains for a total price of $143,900.
After deducting-the trade-in
price of the township’s 1977
grader, $33,500, and adding
$7,728 in provincial sales tax, the
total cost was reduced to $118,128,
$50,000 of which will be paid by a
supplementary subsidy from the
Ministry of Transportation and
Communication, while the town
ship will pick up the tab for the
remaining $68,128.
