Last weekend, Blyth held its
annual Men’s Slow Pitch Tourna
ment, with 32 teams participating.
Four diamonds were in use:
Auburn, Belgrave, Radford and
Blyth Arena, with many fans
cheering their teams on. The first
games were held Wednesday
evening.
Mother N ature was on their side,
as showers held off, allowing the
games to be played as scheduled,
at least until Saturday night.
Dances were held both Friday and
Saturday evenings, with Disc
Jockeys from “Music Express”
providing the music to good crowds
both evenings.
Unfortunately, the rain that held
off during the tournament earlier,
madeupforitonSunday. Due to
the continuous downpour, no more
games could be played to decide
the champions. With the cancella
tion, cash prizes were then split
between the eight remaining
teams. Forthe “A” division, Blyth
Inn, Goderich Coyotes, Lucknow
Kinsmen and Atwood Colbra each
received $340 in prize money.
Howsons, Parkhouse, Gemini and
Big League each obtained $225 in
the “B” division.
A special note of thanks for all
the time and effort shown to make
the tournament another success
