Mr. and Mrs. Harold Vincent, Mr. and Mrs. Neil Vincent, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Vincent, Carrie Anne Vincent of Milton and Mrs. Dorothy Logan attended the Bent­ ley family reunion at Sebringville on Sunday, August 9. Mr. and Mrs. Warren Pickell of Toronto were Sunday visitors with his aunt Mrs. Mabel Wheeler. Mrs. Harold Vincent, Mrs. Jim Lamont and Mrs. William Coultes attended “Day of Rejoicing’’ at Alma College, St. Thomas, Satur­ day, August 8. Dr. Anne Squire of Ottawa, Moderator of the United Church of Canada, addressed 225 United Church Women. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Emerson of Brandon, Manitoba and Paul and Elan Normandeau of Toronto visited with Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Black last week. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Johnston attended the Johnston reunion at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Johnston RR 2, Bluevale on Sunday, August 9. Mr. and Mrs. Ross Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Rob Roy and Christina of Lakefield, Mr. and Mrs. Rick Ball, Matthew and Alicia of Hanover spent a week camping at Point Farms Provincial Park, Goderich. Anyone interested in the 4-H project * ‘Taste of Ontario Fruit and Vegetable”, beginning in Septem­ ber should call Mrs. Arlyn Mont­ gomery 357-1279or Mrs. Isabel Campbell 357-1938. All library books must be in library by August 13 for book exchange the following Thursday, August 20. The Library will then be at the new location the W.I. Hall, Belgrave. East Wawanosh fanner Murray Scott, of RR 1, Belgrave, left, was the recipient of a Conservation Award Certificate from the Maitland Valley Conservation Authority in recognition of the conservation work he has undertaken on his own property over the past number of years. Norman Haid, chairman of the MVCA’s Land Management Advisory Board, made the presentation at last week’s MVCA summer general meeting in Wroxeter. Seniors Day Centre to attend theatre BY PAM WILLIAMS Social and recreational pro­ grams for older adults continue at the Day Centre in the Wingham armoury - and like other months - August will be quite busy. Early in August members will be enjoying Michael Sharp, a talented ventriloquist. The Blyth Festival plays continue and a group travell­ ed to the August 6 matinee performance of the play “Bush Fire’’. They will also be viewing the performance of “Miss Bal­ moral of the Bayview’’ on August 20. There mightbe extra tickets available if you’re interested. Transportation provided. On Thursday, August 13 the Wingham Centre will be guests of the Huron Day Centre for the Homebound in Clinton. The Clin­ ton Centre provides similar pro­ grams as the Wingham Day Centre. In mid-August, a film on Scottish dancing will be viewed at the centre so get your kilt ironed and your swords polished in anticipa­ tion of a sword dance! Over the past few months, we’ve had the pleasure of having two Program Assistants on staff. Kim Sanderson of Lucknow was^aining work experience at the centre under the Futures program. Wil­ ma Brink, a student at Wilfred aurier University was hired under the Summer-Experience-Employ- nent-Development (SEED) pro­ gram. Both of these program \ssistants will be leaving at the end if Augustand we’ll miss them a great deal. They’ve provided new ideas, smiling faces and have enabled us to provide extra programs in the summertime. Don’t forget that we will be viewing the Stratford festival play “Much AdoAboutNothing’’ on September 15. A thought to think about is a quote from Robert Browning “Grow old along with me!
