Social and recreational pro

the Day Centre in the Wingham
armoury - and like other months -
August will be quite busy.
Early in August members will be
enjoying Michael Sharp, a talented
ventriloquist. The Blyth Festival
plays continue and a group travell
ed to the August 6 matinee
performance of the play “Bush
Fire’’. They will also be viewing
the performance of “Miss Bal
moral of the Bayview’’ on August
20. There mightbe extra tickets
available if you’re interested.
Transportation provided.
On Thursday, August 13 the
Wingham Centre will be guests of
the Huron Day Centre for the
Homebound in Clinton. The Clin
ton Centre provides similar pro
grams as the Wingham Day
Centre.
In mid-August, a film on Scottish
dancing will be viewed at the
centre so get your kilt ironed and
your swords polished in anticipa
tion of a sword dance!
Over the past few months, we’ve
had the pleasure of having two
Program Assistants on staff. Kim
Sanderson of Lucknow was^aining
work experience at the centre
under the Futures program. Wil
ma Brink, a student at Wilfred
aurier University was hired under
the Summer-Experience-Employ-
nent-Development (SEED) pro
gram. Both of these program
\ssistants will be leaving at the end
if Augustand we’ll miss them a
great deal. They’ve provided new
ideas, smiling faces and have
enabled us to provide extra
programs in the summertime.
Don’t forget that we will be
viewing the Stratford festival play
“Much AdoAboutNothing’’ on
September 15.
A thought to think about is a
quote from Robert Browning
“Grow old along with me! The best
is yet to be, the last of life for which
the first was made.”
