Hallrice 4-H dub kids learn with fake auction BY SHANNON HALLAHAN The fifth meeting of the Hallrice 4-H Dairy Calf Club was held on July 22 at Murray Howatt’s at 8:00 p.m. The meeting opened with the 4-H pledge and roll call was taken. Lesson #4 called “Cattle Sales’’ was read by members in the club. An auction ring was set up with Richard Lobb as the auctioneer. The club members participated in a pretend calf auction. Using four calves the bids went higher and higher, although the bidders had no money to pay for the calves. Everyone learned more about buying and selling calves. The meeting was adjourned and lunch was served. The next meeting will be held on August 19 at John Bos’s at 8 p.m. Prices in effect until August 8, 1987 “ATTENTION Hard Red Wheat Producers We have purchased a grain protein analyzer and we are able to receive your Max and Monopol Wheat along with other varieties this harvest. 74i4TH/oN ^X'CULTUHj 2Okg IPCO GRAIN PROTECTANT K0UL-> '>°°S 4 N -----Sperth Cty.
